Rex's rehabilitation

Rex is a dog who has been in rescue for too long. His earlier reports were not good, and concerns had been expressed about his behaviour, and whether he would ever be rehomed.

Sue and Anthony Pitt, who have joined our welfare team have been spending a considerable amount of time with him in the last couple of weeks and the outlook has vastly changed.

Sue and Anthony have identified that many of his perceived failings where misplaced, and that Rex is simply a little misunderstood. He does require an assertive owner, someone who can provide him with leadership and maintain a strict training regime. He still requires more work, and we have contacted our good friend Jo Cottrell of DogTrouble about the possibility of her working with him if necessary (she is currently working with Cesar Milan!). Jo did wonderful work with Chester, who she later adopted to join her pack!

Sue and Ant's frequent reports on Rex have really made the difference. He has had one little incident, but this was checked quickly and he has surprised many by showing no aggression to people, animals or birds. It's not a short road for Rex. But the work done by Sue and Ant mean we can persevere with his rehabilitation with the knowledge with the right owner he can be rehomed.
